Shipping policy

 

Delivering 1000’s of orders of fresh flowers across the UK and to the Channel Islands is a challenge - and we’d love to tell you that we get it right 100% of the time. The truth is, nobody in this industry can promise that, since we all work with a network of couriers who, from time to time, will get things wrong.

To help you get the best experience possible, we have a few different delivery options, from standard to guaranteed services.

United Kingdom - Mainland & Northern Ireland
Standard: Royal Mail Tracked 1st Class - £5.95
Premium: Royal Mail Tracked 1st Class - Morning (AM) Service - £11.95
Premium: DPD Tracked - Weekday Service - £12.95
Premium: DPD Tracked - Weekend Service - £14.95

United Kingdom - Channel Islands 

Standard: Royal Mail Tracked 1st Class - £5.95

Unfortunately at this time, we're unable to offer premium delivery services to the Channel Islands. And delivery to Channel Islands will occur on weekdays only.

Standard delivery is operated by Royal Mail. They work tirelessly to deliver Guernsey Flowers to your door and on 94% of occasions, your delivery will arrive on the day you have selected. The vast majority of our deliveries use our standard service and receive their deliveries on precisely the day they selected (which makes us very happy).

However, our standard delivery is not guaranteed and it is possible (on around 6% of occasions) that your flowers may be delivered a little early or a little late. On rare occasions this can even mean your flowers arrive up to 3 days late (though this is extremely rare, it does fall within Royal Mail’s delivery tolerance on a standard service and there isn’t anything we can do about it). 

Premium delivery - For deliveries that absolutely must get there on your chosen day, we have a guaranteed delivery service with DPD, which operates with 99% delivery success. And if, in the unlikely circumstance, your delivery does not arrive on your selected day, you will be refunded immediately. 

Please note, in the event we are unable to ship via a certain courier, we will use an alternative method. If we use a cheaper service, the difference will be refunded. 

Please note, when shipping to Northern Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, Sark or the Isle of Man, you may need to change the country at checkout for this to allow your order to be processed.

Selecting a Date

When selecting a date we always ship out in advance to ensure you receive your purchase exactly when you need it. We will aim to get your purchase there on the day of choosing, however, on some occasions, they may arrive a day early. 

Channel Islands

We deliver to the Channel Islands via Royal Mail. Royal Mail do not deliver to the Channel Islands on weekends, so all deliveries will take place on a week day. 
We would not suggest ordering next-day delivery to the Channel Islands. Whilst many orders to the Channel Islands do arrive next-day, Royal Mail have informed us that they are often held up with customs issues as the delivery enters Guernsey, which means you should assume your delivery will take at least two working days to arrive. Our flowers will usually still look great after that period in transit, especially after a little care (trimming of the stems, fresh water) and time to re-hydrate. 

Sunday Deliveries

If you have selected a Sunday delivery date, please ensure you pick the correct service at checkout (Labelled Sunday or Sat-Sun). Failing to do so, will result in your order being dispatched Monday to arrive Tuesday. Please note, that we cannot be liable or refund orders due to this. 

Providing Addresses & Information

Due to the nature of our goods being perishable, it is critical that the address provided at checkout is correct. We ask all customers to please provide as much information as possible when checking out. Adding a phone number and an email address is also advisable.

Incorrect Address or Address Changes

If you spot a mistake in your address or need to change the address, please let us know as soon as possible. We are very speedy at Guernsey Flowers, and all orders are processed with efficiency, even if your flowers are not due to be delivered for a few days/weeks. We will do our best to change an address, but if this has already been posted, we may not be able to change this. In this circumstance, we are unable to refund or replace flowers that have been sent to an address that is incorrect, but we will offer you a couple of options to help out!

Delivery & Refunds

Please note that for deliveries arriving early or late, up to 3 business days, we cannot refund or replace these orders. In no circumstance will Guernsey Flowers by Post refund delivery charges due to early or late arrivals that fall within our stated delivery windows - except when a guaranteed service was selected. For Royal Mail deliveries, 94% of our deliveries will be on the chosen date and almost all remaining deliveries will take place one day after that. There are occasions when parcels are delayed which may result in your order arriving a day or two late. This should not impact the condition of the flowers. If your flowers have been impacted due to late delivery, please get in touch with us so that we can help resolve this.

All of our deliveries are shipped from the mainland UK. Although our team will always try our best to ensure punctual delivery for our customers, Guernsey Flowers cannot be held responsible if a delivery arrives late due to any circumstances impacting the availability of the postal service that we use or anything else outside of Guernsey Flowers's control.

We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to use a different delivery method without prior notification. 

In the event of a non-delivery (flowers not having arrived 3 days after their intended delivery date), please contact us. We advise that you contact us within 7 days of the scheduled delivery date in order to claim a refund.

Please note, that we do not refund deliveries that are refused unless we have provided instruction to do so prior to this.  

Not going to be in?

On occasion, our courier may try to deliver when you are not home. In this circumstance, they will either put a card through your door to notify you to collect these from their depot, or they will attempt redelivery the following day. Please note that we will not take responsibility for flowers that have suffered loss of quality due to them not being collected within 1 business day of the attempted delivery date. We will not take responsibility for parcels returned back to us due to them not being collected or for deliveries that have been returned due to the recipient not being home. This information will be provided on our tracking links.

Damages
On the rare occasion, our gifts are damaged in transit. Upon receiving your delivery, please double-check the condition of your gifts to ensure no damage. If you are ordering flowers with a vase, and are using flower food, please check the condition of the vase before placing water and the food inside as any leakage may damage the surface they are placed on. Please let us know regarding damage within 5 days of receiving your gifts for a full replacement.

Loss of Package

In very rare circumstances, packages may be lost by our courier. If this applies, we will obtain a scan history from our courier and resend your order free of charge after 3 business days of the selected delivery date. If you have not received your products after 3 business days, please contact us. In no circumstances do we refund or reissue products until the 3 business day period (from the selected delivery date of the order) has been met.
